Churchill war rooms

On Thursday 17th November Year 6 went to the Churchill War Rooms in London. First, we got on the tube to St James Park and then we walked until we got to the Churchill War Rooms. Inside we watched a short clip about Winston Churchill and why he was so important in World War 2. Next, we got an audio guide to tell us more information about him so we wandered around looking and listening. We saw all the bedrooms and offices where people in World War 2 slept and worked. Winston Churchill only slept in his underground bedroom three times! We also saw his dining room. After that we had finished our tour.

Later, we walked to Downing Street where we saw the door of our Prime Minister. We saw some policemen and they told us a story about how they had to tazer a man. Soon after, we took a photo but then we had to go so we gave them a high-five and left. Afterwards, we walked to St James Park and we ate our lunch. Then, we wandered over to Buckingham Palace. Eventually, we made our way to the park and played for a couple of minutes. Finally, we got on the tube back to Sudbury Hill. We all had a great day and we all enjoyed it.
