It took a moment for me to realise,

As the cat stood above me with envy,

Her triumphant eyes,

Who longed for some pies,

She jumped,

She clawed,

She gnawed,

 And I was floored,

In these few moments,

Everything stopped and,

I knew this was the end,

I went round the wrong bend,

I’ll never take her lunch again.

The very next day,

I was in dismay,

She stole my shoes.

A little bird cooed,

 And the audience booed,

In these very few moments,

Everything stopped and,

I thought to myself,

What on Earth should I do?
