On the 16th May 2016; St. Georges football team travelled to Liverpool to play a Premier League School's tournament. The football team didn't have an early start as they didn't have to wake up at a normal early time, they had time to relax as they had to meet at Watford's football ground - Vicarage Road. As the team started to arrive at the stadium, we also found our seats on to a luscious coach that was previously used by the QPR first team. When we got onto the coach; a special gift awaited us on our seats it contained: a Watford annual, a programme from Watford's last game (against Sunderland), crayons, a pencil, a rubber and a notebook. We were all extremely excited now as had started our journey to Liverpool.

When we arrived in Liverpool, we also arrived at our hotel that we were going to stay at for the two days we were in Liverpool. Before we got to see our rooms, we had to pick the dinner we were going to eat for the night. Soon after we ate our dinner, we went to Liverpool's stadium, Anfield. We took a lot pictures whilst we were their and we also wanted to visit the club shop but we just missed it by a couple of minutes - which was very saddening. We were then told some good news by the Liverpool staff and they said there was another shop in the City Centre which we walked to from our hotel.

On the next day, we woke very early this time (at 7:00am) because we had to get prepared for the big day that lay ahead of us. About half an hour after everyone had finished their breakfast, we all went to get ready in to our kit so that we were now read to leave and get ready to played a big day of football.

After we travelled three miles to the Everton stadium, we were most excited than we have ever been before, we were about to play football on a PREMIER LEAGUE pitch! Soon after the Everton staff instructed us and told us where to go, we were going to some seats were we were going to stay for the day.

Shortly after we settled down, we were finally on the home of Everton FC, GOODISON PARK. We were getting ready to go down the tunnel so we could come out and start our day of football. Whilst we were in the tunnel, we were given flags so we could show that we represented Watford even more. Now we were as happy as a clam because we came out the tunnel and we were on the pitch; words couldn't describe how happy we were but we were a little bit nervous. About half an hour later, we were playing our first game against West Ham. We got off to early start with a goal in the opening minutes scored by Aston. It was a well worked passing move and ended with a good goal. Getting nearer to the end of the match, West Ham equalised. We didn't let this effect us but we didn't manage to get back in the game. The game ended 1-1. Into our next game against Sunderland, we were given a team talk - led by Mr Willis - saying that we needed to get good results from our next three games. We did exactly that and beat Sunderland 5-1. We were very happy as it was a dazzling performance from Aston as he scored 4 goals, he was now on course of becoming top goal scorer. After our match against Sunderland, we were in for a big surprise. We were going to see the REAL PREMIER LEAGUE trophy. What an amazing surprise! Into our next match against Crystal Palace, we knew that they had a very good squad and we needed to get a good result against them. Unluckily, we lost 1-0. We were all extremely upset as we thought we couldn't go through. But that wasn't the case. We still had a chance of going through if we won our next game (against Manchester United) and if Crystal Palace lost to West Ham. We would come out on top in what was, probably the tightest group. Now against Manchester United we were as pumped up as ever because if result worked out, we would go through. Happily, we won the match 3-0 but sadly, we didn't go through. As we watched the semi-finals and finals in despair, we would alarmed with some great news that we had the U11 boys' top goal scorer in our team, Aston. We were very happy for him.

Overall, if was a great experience for St. George's football team but we were still upset that we didn't get to bring home the glory.
