Electricity is created by generators which can be powered by gas, oil,

coal, wind or solar. You can convert this electrical energy into other types

of energy such as heat, light, sound or movement. Electricity is very

fascinating, but also very dangerous so be careful when using electrical

appliances.

Circuits

Electricity can flow through the components in a complete circuit.

A circuit always needs a power source (such as a battery) and wires connecting to both the positive(+) and negative(-) ends. For electricity to travel around it, a circuit must be complete-which means it has no gaps. You can use a switch in a circuit to make a gap. When a switch is open(off)there is a gap in the circuit so electricity cannot pass through it, but when a switch is closed(on) it makes the circuit complete so electricity can travel around the circuit. Adding more batteries to the circuit will make something like a bulb even brighter!
