We talked about holding hands and staying close, stopping and standing still and looking and listening.

We also talked about safe places to cross and people that help us.

STOP! Wait until it is safe to cross

LOOK! To see if there is any traffic or danger

LISTEN! Sometimes we may hear traffic before we see it

Playgroup children did lots of activities to reinforce this...

We played with cars and road mats

We made traffic lights, we used paint to sponge print car pictures, we made tracks with paint

We played a stop and go game and practised STOP, LOOK, LISTEN !

We learnt a new song.... Twinkle twinkle traffic light

Red means stop, green means go

Orange means very, very slow
