TRIP TO THE ROYAL COURTS

OF JUSTICE

On Monday 8th February 2015, 4 Green took a trip to the Royal Courts of Justice. We took a bus and that took at least one hour. Out of the window some of us spotted the court and at first sight were amazed! It was a tall, stone building with gargoyles hanging from the roof. When we arrived we were all very excited, but we had to be silent because real trials were happening. Eventually we arrived at the courtroom where we learnt about the room we were in. One of us asked "why are there so many books?" and the answer was because when a trial is happening and the judge can`t make a decision, he or she can look in a book and see what the previous judge did.

Once we had done that, we did a little trial of our own. We each got a part to play and it was very enjoyable. There was a judge, an usher, a clerk, four witnesses, two defence barristers, two prosecution barristers and jury. After, we filled in a sheet that had some questions on it. Then it was time to go. We got on a bus and it took about three quarters of an hour to get back. Finally we arrived at school, very tired but happy.

THE END.
