World Children's Day

World children's day is celebrated on the 20th November each year. It was first set in 1954 to encourage international togetherness, awareness among children and improving children's welfare.

It is a day to celebrate the power of children to change the world. A day for children by children and a day to imagine a better future for every child.

In 1989, the world leaders made an important promise to all children by adopting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. This helped transform children's lives around the world, although still lots of children do not enjoy a full childhood. We hope that one day EVERY child has EVERY right.
