Catherine of argon

Henry the VIII had six wives because:he had his first wife because he got given her by his father Catherine had six children but only one savvied. In 1527 Henry announced his desire to divorce Catherine because she had failed to produce a male heir.

Anne Boleyn

He had his second wife because he fell in love and also needed a son from someone who was his wife. When Anne got miscarried Henry accused her of witchcraft and had her beheaded on May 19th at the tower of London for adultery. At first Anne didn't want to a want marry Henry she was pregnant before they where married so they had to marry.

Jane Seymour

He had his 3rd because he still needed a male heir. Jane wasborn inbetween 1507 and 1509. Henry married his 3rd may the 30th, 1536, just 11days after the execution of Anne. Jane gave birth to a baby on 12th of October1536. Henry was said to be devastated when he heard that Jane died 12 dayslater of blood poisoning. Jane was buried at Windsor castle, later to be joined by Henry. Her son succeeded Henry to be Edward the VI.

Anne of Cleves

Anne was born in 1515 in small German state of Cleves (close to the border of Holland). Anne married Henry in 1540, they were only married for 7 months. Henry chose to marry Anne before meeting her, all he had seen was a portrait of her. Henry signed an agreement with Anne's brother which meant Henry had to marry Anne even though he actually didn't like her very much. they divorced in July 1540.
