Rosa McCauely Parks is know today as the mother of the civil rights moment because her arrest for refusing to give up her seat because she was tired that day.She did not set out to make history when she left her job as a seamstress to board the bus on that afternoon of December 1st 1955. Rosa Parks was born 1913 also died on 2005.

Nelson Mandela was the first black President of

South Africa.He spent 27 years in prison for trying

to overthrow pro-apartheid government.After he

left prison,he worked to achieve human rights

and a better life for South Africa.Nelson Mandela

was born 1918 also died in 2013.
