Abstract Art

Abstract Art is a way artists express themselves by using various ideas and designs that have a special meaning to them and their lives. This type of art is also called 'non-objective art' and does not always represent an accurate reality.

Visually it can look mysterious and sometimes does not make any sense. It could also look repetative and weird, but for the artist, every brush-stroke has a special meaning.

There are various types of abstract art. Some examples are geometric, contemporary, landscape and modern. Besides a painting, it could also be a statue, pottery or a graphic design.

There are many painters famous for their abstract art like Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock and Juan Miro.

Abstract art is a modern type of art that has been with us for around a century and will always be very popular.
