Gelet

One day there lived a brave hound named Gelert.Prince Llewellyn was about to go hunting. He blew his horn to his lips and all of his fine hounds gathered around him,all except for one which was his finest and most prized hound,Gelert. Arrows flew but prince Llewellyn still had seen no sight of his finest companion.

When they returned from their hunt Gelert approached with his jaws dripping with blood.Straight away the princes eyes darted to his sons nursery,he had assumed that Gelert had killed his son with jealously! He then suddenly sighted his sons bloody blanket and his upturned cot.

Full of grief, prince Llewellyn thrust his sword into Gelerts heart! Slowly, the dying whimpering of a dog slowly drifted away. Then, prince Llewellyn heard the faint crying of a small baby.He searched for his son and found that he was alive! He hugged his son with joy but suddenly found a dead wolf its throat had been cut open and he was extremely wounded.

He cradled his faithful son but at the same time had a feeling of bitter regret in his stomach.Tears started to roll down his cheeks like a heavy river falling down.Prince Llewellyn carries Gelerts dead body and buries him so that he will never be forgotten and that his bravery will stand out to everyone.

Gelerts body is burried in a place called Beddgelert and to this day can still be found and remembered, not just as a friend but also as a hero.
