Table Tennis
History of table tennis
1) The sport originated towards the end of the 19th century, where it was played among the upper-class, as an after-dinner game.
2) The game was originally called "ping pong" to describe the game played using the rather expensive Jaques's equipment, with other manufacturers calling it table tennis.
3)You need the room of 19 feet and 11 feet wide, for a full size table at least.
Rules
1) They changed the rules on September the 1st 2001. The rule they changed was the first person who gets to 11 wins the match and the loser goes off and waits for their next turn.
2) Nope! You don't have to serve diagonally. You can serve where you wish, but you have to be on your side, not your opponents side.
3) In table tennis you can only let it bounce twice on your side of the table, but if you do you lose a point, then other person gets a point.
4) In table tennis you must have the right equipment for the game. You need the right bat for the game, otherwise you can't play the game when it comes to your turn.
Scoring
1) You only get two chance,s otherwise you lose the point ,which you do not want to do. Also in table tennis, if you serve a fault you lose a point .
2)In table tennis you can lose points if you touch the table when playing a point. But if you are too small, it is okay.
3)Before the game starts you must have a pen or pencil and a sheet of paper or you could just have someone remember the scores for you, if you don't have a piece of paper with you. Really, it doesn't mater which one you use, because they both work out. I just like remembering the score.
Types of bats
1) You can have professional bats and just bats that are not very good, for table tennis.
2) The professional bat is about £50 or more, but if they're less, they are not very good, but you can still use them.
Type of balls
1) Then there are different balls you can get, 1 and 3 star balls. One star balls are good, but the three star balls are better, but they're roughly about the same .
Types of designs
1) In table tennis you can get lots of different types of bats from different countries, like the examples I have given you.
2) The main difference is always the handle. It always changes for every single bat you get from any family member. If you get the same bat, you will get the same handle.
