Battle Of Britain

Hitler tried to convince Britain to surrender without a fight.

The name "Battle Of Britain" came from a speech by the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill.

Luftwaffe was the German Air Force

Germany started bombing

Great Britain in the air.

The RAF had around 1,960 aircrafts at its disposal in July 1940.

This meant its aircraft were

outnumbered by the Luftwaffe.

The Luftwaffe launched around 1,000 aircraft in one single attack.

Hitler aimed to force Britain to submit

by bombing, naval blockade or, if

necessary, invasion.

They had trenches in WW2.
