Last week, Year 4 (us) went to Sayer's Croft, a residential trip where you stayed away for five
days and four nights. I really enjoyed my fantastical experience and adventure at Sayer's Croft
and I've decided to share some of it with you. My favourite thing by far was the river walk:
You walked through a muddy stream full of brown water in your welly
boots and as you walked forward the height of the water increased.
When you were only halfway through, the water flowed into your wellies and made your socks brown and soggy. It was even worse for
you if you weren't even wearing socks at all!
Sometimes you'd have to duck under a tree
trunk that had fallen across the river,or heave
yourself up to climb over it.
At the end of the walk, you came to the deepest
part of the river,WHERE IT CAME UP TO YOUR
TUMMY!To get to the end, you had to walk across
this very deep bit of the river. Most of the daring people sat in the river at the end,or
lay down, or crawled across.Even some of the teachers jumped in, or crawled, or lay
down etc.It made us all roar with laughter. Afterwards we all had to take long, soothing,
relaxing showers and of course we changed into other clothes, leaving our soggy ones
hanging on rails outside , or on wooden racks in the Drying Room.
