Topic No:2 Currency

Currency was our next topic in Microsociety. We learnt about the different currency around the world and how you can't use your currency in a different country. For example, you won't be able to use America's currency (Dollars) in England. We also discussed about different objects used as currency such as shells, gold, a cow, diamonds and coins. We had many other options on our table and we had to sort it out into two categories, one section for objects that can't be used as currency and the other, for objects that can be used as currency.

We then decided a name for our society's currency and designed the notes and the characteristics required to create notes. In our class, Minseo's design was chosen with 13 votes from the class. Before we started drawing, we deliberated about what we should do to the notes to make sure that no-one ca make a replicate of it.

Finally, we all looked at some money that came from different countries which were Australian, European, American and Canadian money. As soon as we looked at it, we then wrote down on our whiteboards, what special features were there that made it different to other countries currency's. I love Microsociety (a lot!!!).
