HOWARD CARTER

Howard Carter was a archaeologist who discoverd Tutankhmens tomb.

He was born in 1874 in Kensington, London. His father was a famous artist and taught Howard how to draw and paint.Carter was only 17 when he was send on his first mission to Egypt. He was asked to copy tomb decorations and his drawing skills came in handy.

Later Howard Carter's boss was Lord Carnarvon who sent him on another mission to Egypt in 1922.They went to the Valley of Kings where they searched for Tutankhmens tomb. Many archaeologists had being tring to find it before. But on the 6th of November 1922 Howard's water boy found some steps. After many days of search they eventually came across TUTANKHMENS TOMB. Then Carter called Lord Canarvon who asked him: ''What can you see?' The famous answer was: 'Wonderfull things!' He had found about 3000 treasures, many of the pieces were in gold.
