The strange machine



I was so bored in quarantine that one day I decided to have a look down the basement to find something fun. This is where my scientist uncle had used for a long time as a lab. Under a dusty blanket I found a very strange machine with many buttons, knobs, dials, levers and on one side there was a button that said 'on'.

I was so curious because my uncle never mentioned anything about this machine hidden in the basement before so I decided to turn it on. The buttons of the machine lit up and the arrows on the metres began to rise, I noticed a lever near a monitor with dates on it and a message blinking ready to activate. Suddenly a voice knocked my socks off saying 'if you want to proceed turn the lever forwards.'

Obviously I turned it forward and in the blink of an eye a dash of light appeared. I was so confused and asked myself why my Uncle didn't tell me about this awesome machine. As soon as I could see clearly, I realized that I was not in the basement anymore and I found myself in the middle of a jungle and I felt the land shaking under my feet. At that moment I remembered that the dates on the screen where set to 66 million years ago and according to the books I have read in the school library, in those times the dinosaurs lived.

I looked behind me and saw a t-Rex coming towards me and I quickly reactivated the machine and put the date to 2020.

Phew! That was close as I almost got devoured by a T-Rex. It is a useful machine but you have use it carefully. That's the reason why my Uncle hid it in the basement.
