A storm at sea

I was on our family boat when dark, grey clouds started looming

over us. Rain started pelting down like tonnes of tiny pebbles.

The boat rolled and swayed in the frothing water as the sea

pounded against us.

Everything on the boat started shaking and rolling off the tables

and shelves. Water started to enter the boat and we all got very scared. My two little brothers started to panic and cry making my parents very worried that something bad could happen to us.

The waves hitting the bad very hard pushing us far and far from the shore. My dad tried to control the boat the best way he could while mum kept us safe in a corner covered with blankets. The storm lasted for around forty minutes but to us it felt like hours.

Finally the rain stopped and the sea got calmer.

My father could manage the boat better and once it

was over, the sea calmed down and we could make

it back home. We were still very scared and couldn't

wait to be back home in our cozy beds as we were

feeling really cold and tired.

It was such a scary experience that I couldn't think it will take me a while before I manage to go out at sea on a boat again without trembling.
