Roald Dahl

Roald Dahl was an inspirational author of children’s books. His books are still being bought today in 2019. He was born on the 13th September 1916 in Llandaff, Cardiff. Sadly, Roald Dahl died on the 23rd November 1990 from rare blood cancer.

Even today he is an inspiration to millions of children and even adults all around the world. One of Roald Dahl’s famous books is 'Charlie and the Chocolate factory'.

The book is about a lovely and caring boy, Charlie, who was very poor. He lived in a town where there was chocolate factory that used to sell the world’s greatest chocolate. It sold all sorts of chocolate.

One day Willy Wonka, the person who owned the chocolate factory , put five golden tickets into special chocolate bars. Charlie found 50p, enough to buy a Willy Wonka chocolate bar. He bought one and found a GOLDEN TICKET!!! The book carries on by Charlie taking his grandfather to the marvellous factory.

All of Roald Dahl’s books are very imaginative stories. They are all full of adventure. Roald Dahl is often thought of as the world’s best author for both children and adults.
