Dear mother,

the Titanic is such a wonderful ship, I wish you were able to come to America with me. When we set sail I remember welling up as I left you. I do hope you are doing well with father and little brother Caleb. How are you all? I will write to you again soon. Our dining room is wonderful in second class, I do wish you could see it. Me and my new friends, Tanya and Belle, have been seeing beautiful seals out in the ocean, and the dolphins beside the ship are spectacular. We have also been studying strange, peculiar rocks that have gathered onto the ship.

We will be going to get ready to dine soon, Belle has let me borrow a gorgeous gown. It has shiny gems embedded all over it. I bet you would absolutely love it. Second class have a piano here! It is so big, I always ask for the pianist to play the song you like most. It reminds me of being back home, like I'm able to hear your voice every time the first note starts to play.

Mother this ship is like nothing I have ever seen. Just the living room is about fifty times the size of ours. I am still nervous, even though I know I am safe. The bathroom is splendid, we have lovely mirrors and sinks. Our bed linen gets changed every day! The journey has been smooth so far, it's so lovely just looking out at the ocean. I can't wait to get to America and experience all of the things it has to offer. I promise to be safe and sensible just as you told me to be.

I have to go now mother, I'm going to have my dinner soon. Remember shan't be long till I write to you again, tell father and Caleb I love them and I'll be back soon.

with all my love,
