Lewis Dickinson and Dion Davies from Year 6 have recently won a National Coding Competition.
Using the coding platform Scratch, a visual coding software where you use blocks to create animations, games and more. We can make about anything and everything you can think of. We not only won the Year 5/6 category, but the overall competition. We won a prize of a Kano Computer kit and Kano Screen Kit. With the kit, you can make your very own computer which specialises in coding. You can code custom things in Minecraft, you can create music with code and more. "The competition was challenging but it was a good experience for me" says one of the coders Dion Davies. "I had great fun and I learned a lot" says the other coder Lewis Dickinson. The computer has been built and is in Class 6D.

Successful Tabernacle Christmas Spectacular.
Once again this year our Year 4 learners in Johnstown Primary School prepared a feast for the eyes and ears with their wonderful Christmas Nativity Concert. The Year 4 hosted their 'The Magical Christmas Jigsaw' Nativity on Tuesday 19th December at 1.30pm in the Tabernacle church, Carmarthen.
Prior to this spectacular event, we interviewed Mr Hughes (Our Year 4 teacher) to see what the Year 4 learners had planned for us in this year's Nativity Extravaganza.
The hall has been a hive of activity for all the infants, has they prepare
for their Nativity's.
