Shakespeare factfile



Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in England and at school he learnt Latin and Greek.

Shakespeare was married at the age of 18 with Anne Hathaway and had 3 children called Susanna,Judith and Hamnet.

He was rich enough to make his own theatre called 'The Globe'.

He wrote tragedies like Romeo and Juliet,comedies like A Midsummer Night's Dream and he even wrote histories like Henry the Fifth!

The reason I have not said when he was born is because no one really knows when he was actually born but he was christened in April 26th 1564.His dad was a leather worker and made gloves, purses and belts too!

Shakespeare died in 1616 when he was 52.
