Activity: Spellings

Please practise the spellings on the grid below. The grid progresses from Earth to Stars and builds in the number of words to practise. The children can choose their level of challenge. These are high frequency words that you cannot spell phonetically (sound out). If you would like an extra challenge, there are also some challenge words to practise that link in with our current topic of 'Long, Long Ago'. You can practise these spellings in any way you want too but I have listed some ideas below. You can share this with a photograph uploaded to your J2e files, or send a photograph on Class Dojo.

Ideas for spelling practise

• Three times- write each word three times and say it as you write.
• Using colours- practise writing where each letter is in a different colour.
• Using natural objects to form the letters in the word e.g. conkers or sticks.
• Look, cover write.
• How many times can you write the word in 1 minute?
