The old lamp.



Saturday evening my family and I decided to go to my great grandmother's house. My brother and I went to play in the backyard as we always used to do.

While we were playing we saw a handle poking out of the soil and we felt a bundle of nerves.My brother was raring to go and discover what that handle was. I was so scared that I felt rooted to the spot. I tried to stop him but it was too late because he was pulling it with all his strength .OH MY ! He is so adventurous. It was so stuck in the soil that I had to help him. A big ball of dirt was stuck to a very old lamp. We removed as much dirt as we could with our bare hands,then I suggested we use a soft cloth to clean it well.

The lamp had a golden colour. When my brother and I were looking at this lamp, I remembered a story that I once read. It was about an old lamp when a genie appeared every time they rubbed it. So I found the courage to rub the lamp and to my surprise it really appeared. An enormous cloud of blue smoke in the shape of a person floated in the sky. We were so knocked down with a feather that my brother and I were left with our mouths open. We couldn't believe that a genie appeared. The genie told us, '' I can grand you 3 wishes,use them wisely! ''At the drop of a hat he disappeared. My brother and I decided to keep everything a secret and later that night when we went back home ,we decided our three wishes. I wished for a magical pony ,unlimited toys and a huge teddy bear.My brother wished for 5 beautiful birds, all their essentials and unlimited school supplies.

As soon as we said our wishes, they were all granted to us. We felt over the moon with happiness. We couldn't wait to go to our great grandmother's house to thank the genie for granting our wishes. FINISHED
