Yellow

We are sending out an urgent plea, we need a parent or grandparent to support the weekly Thursday cooking session. If you are ableto help please speak to Mrs Seickell.

Information for Foundation 2 (Reception)

Your child will choose a new library book each week on a Friday.

The children have made a great start with their home study activities and we would like to thank you for your support. We ask that the phonics and maths home study activities are completed each week by your child with support if required, please do not complete it for them. If they are reluctant to ‘have a go’ please reassure them that the more times they practice something, the easier it will get. Please annotate your child’s work where required and ensure that the homestudy book is in their wallet on a Thursday for marking (with nice stamps and stickers!)

P.S.Please help your child to catch up with last week’s tasks if they have not yet done so. Thank you.

For the challenge we ask that you go on a hunt for yellow objects around the home. This weekend, please support your child to count the number of yellow objects that they find and help them to create a simple tally. This will support your child in their mathematical development. We ask that you post on the challenge blog the number of objects they find and we will see who can find the most objects.

The Challenge

Next week the children will be baking yummy banana, oat and raisin biscuits, using only these three ingredients. In Foundation 2(Reception) the colour mixing demonstrations continue with food colouring and milk! We will all be looking closely at sunflower heads next week and strengthening our hand muscles by using tongs to remove the seeds in addition to counting and recording how many we can remove. Your child will also be exploring a range of media to create their own sunflower. The Foundation unit will look stunning!
