Week 1- Microsociety blog

In Microsociety we discussed scarcity, scarcity is when people want something but there isn't enough for everybody. For example if people wanted water and there wasn't enough that would be scarcity.

We also played a game called the shape game. We had five groups I was in group five, each group got a pack with different resources in. In my groups pack we had a pencil, two pairs of scissors , a ruler, counters and a compass. You get ten points for drawing a 10cm circle but it couldn't be anymore or any less, you get five points for if you draw a 10cm square . You had a different amount of counters in each pack we have four and they are worth five points so we traded them in and got twenty five points. My group didn't have any paper so we traded one pair of scissors for paper so we were able to actually make our shapes. My group won with 50 points because we had a compass so we could draw our circles exactly 10cm. After that we talked about 1st and 3rd world countries, a first world country is a country that is rich and wealthy. A first world country would be somewhere like America or England countries like that. A 3rd world country is country that is poor and developing, this is countries in continents like Asia, Africa and Latin America.
