Dazzea’s odd wildlife.

Odd Animal 1: The Goblin Shark

The Goblin Shark is no ordinary shark as it

is the last living representative of an

otherwise extinct family called

Mitsukurinidae, which is 125 million years

old. A rare creature, it dwells near the

sea floor to hunt. This pink-skinned animal

is easily recognisable thanks to its elongated

snout and strange upper-jaw. It has been

classified as 'least concern' despite it's rarity.

A strange shark, has been given 8/10 'odd level'.

Odd Animal 2: The Star-nosed Mole

The Star-nosed Mole is easily identifiable

thanks to it's highly sensitive, star

shaped nose. The 20, fleshy growths on

it's nose are equipped with over

25,000 minute sensory receptors,

needless to say, it's nose is used as an

external touch organ. It's shovel like

hands are perfect for carving out tunnels

for the mole to traverse and live in. This highly advanced system of touch means that the mole has no need for good sight - henceforth it is almost entirely blind. Also, underground, there's not much need to see as it's so dark but the mole's incredible nose also can detect seismic wave vibrations. For this, we give the Star-nosed Mole a 5/10 odd level.

Odd Animal 3: The Axolotl

The Axolotl or Mexican Walking Fish, is an amphibian that is located in Mexico. Critically endangered and possibly extinct in the wild, a four month search for the axolotl was conducted with no survivors in the wild. Axolotls are small with small gills around their heads. Although the albino form is more often seen, black is their true colour.
