A WORLD OF DARKNESS!

MY BLITZ POEM - JAMES (JIMMY) ROBERT ADAMS - 8/11/2021 Y6

Bombs dived like seagulls,

Bullets rebounded carlessly against metal.

Corpses laying scattered,

Ghostly pale in the dim light.

Hoses snaked along the ground, worms in the undergrowth.

Everything inactive,

A flicker of flame LIKE a glimmer of hope.

Only to engulf a building with a incinerating inferno,

Fearsome, fiery embers flew into the air...

Inactivity came again.

Mettalic birds mocked people overhead,

People paralysed with fear, easy targets.

Death dropped again,

Getting closer.

boom! Boom! BOOM!!!

The sound of death came closer,

Instilling fear.

Heat gripped buildings,

Gnawing at their foundations.

In the aftermath,

Plumes of black smoke ambled towards the apocalyptic, red sky.
