Lectio Divina

Lectio Divina is a special type of prayer which includes 4 different parts

Lectio

Meditatio

Oratio

Contemplatio

We use it because it is a prayer that you can use all the different ways of speaking to God. We are trying to tell God things we are worried about or to praise God or to ask him for things we need. During praying Lectio Divina we read the passage and think about it. Then we speak to God about it. Finally and most importantly we use what we have read in the passage and reflect on our everyday lives with other people. I think Lectio Divina is a good way to pray because it encourages you to use all the different ways of praying to God.
