Richard has been defeated!

The War of the Roses has gone on for a long time (32years). However, the Battle of Bosworth might be the last battle of the War with Henry defeating Richard.

The small town of Bosworth in Central England on the 22nd of August 1485 was the setting for this epic battle. The reason the battle started is because Henry wanted to take the throne from Richard. Henry won a remarkable victory despite only having 5,000 men to Richards 15,000 men. Also, the Battle of Bosworth was Henry’s first military battle. Richard was defeated by a blow to the head with a sword, dying immediately. 

Following the battle Richard was hung on a stake naked on public display. When his flesh rotted away he was taken down and buried. King Henry celebrated his victory with a huge party and a feast.
