On the 8th and 9th of June, the whole of St Georges had a Shakespeare workshop. A man came and taught us the story of A Midsummer Night's dream. A Midsummer Night's dream is one of the several plays that Shakespeare has written. Shakespeare is a well known English poet, actor and playwright, he is also sometimes called England's national poet. This is a play about four Athenian lovers, Helena, Lysander, Demetrius and Hermia who are tricked by fairies. He gave us a short summary of what it was about. After that, he put us into groups so we could work on different sections of the story. Half of the school practiced on the 8th and the others did the workshop on the 9th of June. Each individual class practiced a section. Class 4CO had two sections to do. It was very exciting and an informative workshop that everyone had enjoyed. At the end of the day, we came together and performed our sections. It all came together wonderfully and we learnt a lot more about Shakespeare.
