Microsociety Week 2 by Klara

This week in microsociety we were discussing currency and its many properties. We played monopoly and went to the lavender magistrates court.

Monopoly

Before we went on our trip, we played monopoly. I like the game because its very competitive, and I like strategic games. Anyway, I was playing with my best friends, one of who was supposed to be the banker, but lost their job to me. When we started playing, I was the one who went crazy buying properties, while everyone had to pay money for landing on my properties. But then, disaster! I nearly went bankrupt and one of my friends bought my favourite property without even auctioning it to get a better deal. However, things picked up and at the end, I had the biggest net worth and one of my friends had the most money.

Lavender magistrates court

We went to the lavender court, saw prison cells, and acted out a court case. First, we went to see the jail cells, were suspects were held before their cases were held. They were very bare and only had a wooden bench to sit on. There were alarms in case a prisoner escaped, which made me very nervous , because I was sure someone would set it of. Then, we went up to the courtrooms and acted out a case. I was a security guard guarding the suspect. It was a case of a person breaking into a car and stealing a sat-nav. There was lots of evidence pointing to one person in particular so the magistrates decided he was guilty. I thought so to, because the only person defending the suspect was his best friend, something everyone thought was suspicious.
