Q: Which school did you teach at before coming to St.George’s?

A: I taught at a school called Grimsdyke in Hatch End and I was there for five years before before I came to St George’s.

Q: What do you enjoy most about teaching and why?

A: I think I enjoy most being around children and I think being around children that actually want to learn and interacting with children so I have something that I can give them. And they actually want something from me that’s the best thing about teaching.

Q: What is your favourite subject to teach and why?

A: My favourite subject is science and it’s because you get to discover lots of different things, and I think it’s really interesting to try out different experiments and find out what happens. Science is all around us! It’s interesting to get to know about our environment, and things that happen around us.

Q: What made you decide to come to St. George’s?

A:I had a friend who worked here. Mrs Jones told me there was a job available at St George’s, and I thought I’d really quite like to work in a faith school, a Christian school, because I’m of a faith and I believe in God. I thought it would be quite nice to work in a school that was slightly different to my old school. My old school wasn’t a faith school, so I thought this would give me a new challenge, which I was quite excited about.

Q: If you were stuck on a desert island and you could only choose three things to take with you, what would they be and why?

A: My camera, definitely, because if I’m stuck on a desert island it’s a perfect opportunity to get some good shots. Coffee. I need coffee. I will need my coffee to get me through my day. Maybe something quite sensible like a whistle so I can get some help.

Q: If you could go to anywhere in the world for one week, where would it be and why?

A: Definitely, somewhere warm and definitely somewhere far away. I’ve always wanted to visit Thailand. I’ve heard lots of nice things about the country, so I’d say Thailand.

Q: Do you have any pets?If so what are they?If not, what is your favourite animal?

A: I don’t have any pets.I’m not actually that animal friendly. I’m a bit nervous around animals. But I do like dolphins. The reason why I like dolphins is because they symbolise kindness, peace and harmony.

Q: Do you enjoy watching any sports if so, what is your favourite sport and why?

A: Tennis and Wimbledon. The two weeks of Wimbledon is my favourite time of the year. I love tennis. I love going along to Wimbledon to watch matches and having some strawberries and cream. I also like to play tennis as well!

Q: What is your favourite food and why?

A: I quite like cooked sushi. I don’t like raw fish so I don’t like all types of sushi.I also have a very sweet tooth, so anything sweet really; chocolate, chocolate cake, any type of dessert.

Q: What is your favourite children’s book and why?

A: I like to read meaningful books so maybe The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas or War Horse by Michael Morpurgo. I do like other books as well like Harry Potter and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, so lots of imagination.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A: There’s two things I really like doing. One of them is taking photographs. I love photography. I prefer landscape photography, so taking pictures of buildings and scenery as opposed to people. I also like cycling so my favourite pastime at the weekend, although I don’t get around to doing it much, is going into central London, hopping onto one of the bikes and taking some photographs of all the landmarks.
