Eco/Iach News: Autumn 2016

Welcome to a new term and to the new, keen Eco Council. They have already been busy creating a site evaluation. Thanks to all that contributed.

Litter: they found that the site was relatively litter free. The litter monitors are doing a good job. The small yard needed to be targeted and they are on the job - rewarding with stickers for good practice.

It was noted that more composting bins were needed. There are 3 new ones in place already.

Make a difference and look out for our Christmas project

#'doliggwyrdd next term! @YsgolNant

Our Fine Friends for this year! Thanks to the PTA for donating the friendship bench for the yard.

Outdoors:

Thanks to the gardening team who have been busy weeding and trying to tidy the school grounds. The next phase of the Sensory Garden will commence in the next few weeks. If anyone knows of anyone who can donate some sleepers please contact us.

Re-use/Re-cycle:

Thanks to everyone for contributing to the 'Donate Don't Dump Day'. We collected numerous bags of clothes for the RSPCA Llys Nini charity shop. Please remeber to bring in your old shoes for our Thanksgiving collection. 'Sal's Shoes.'

Year 6 have been busy swabbing and monitoring hygiene levels around school. What a shock!

Remember the guidelines how to wash hands properly!

We are going to start collecting bottle tops again. The money raised from re-using the tops will go towards buying equipment and wheel chairs at Glangwili Hospital.

Our lost property and jumpers pile is increasing! Unfortunately due to no names we are unable to return them. How about some iron on labels from www.MyNametags.com Use School ID 24417 and the Eco Council might get a donation. The perfect Christmas gift!

We feel safe at school! KS2 pupils have all received basic First Aid training this term. Thanks to St Johns Ambulance for this!

Many sporting activities have already taken place. Congratulations Owain-Hari a Dylan Davies for being chosen in the District rugby squad.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Rights of the Child charter by returning home contracts.

We still have eggs for sale from Year 4 this year.

£1 for half a dozen.
