Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun. The name of this planet comes from a Roman God. Neptune was the god of the sea. Two mathematicians John Couch Adams and Urbain Jean Joseph DeVerrier had calculated Neptune's probable location but it was German astronomer Johann Gohfried Galle who located the planet in1846. Neptune is the farthest planet from the sun which is more than 4.495 billion km from the sun. Neptune. has a surface area of 7.618 billion km. It is the fourth largest planet and the third massive planet. It is 17 times the mass of earth besides other facts Neptune has the strongest winds in the solar system which makes it the coldest planet in the solar system
