Lincoln Peirce
Lincoln Peirce
Lincoln Peirce is the author of Big Nate. I think he is a
talented writer. I wonder how long it took him to write all of
those books. He has been drawing big nate for 20 years.
When he first invented the character he was actually taller
and skinnier. Big Nate looks different as Lincoln Peirce's
drawing style changed. Peirce finds him fun to draw. I wonder
why his drawings always look the same but Peirce says they don't. H just keeps drawing them over and over again. Like Practising. Practise makes perfect. He always draws Big Nate in a cheerful pose. Like he is running. He is the author and illustrator of Big Nate books. Lincoln Peirce always read comics for the first step of writing these type of books. And back in those days he always wanted to create his own character. Another inspiration was that he had memories of being the character's age, especially school memories. As when you are a kid school is all every adult expects you to care about most of the time, whether you like it or not. Peirce was a little bit like Nate he thought that his life was more important than it actually was. When Lincoln achieved something he would think, why is nobody looking and when other kids acomplished things he would

look around and think why is everybody making a huge deal about what they are doing. He changed somethings about Nate, he wasn't as bold or confident as the character. He didn't get in as much trouble as Nate. As it embodies or includes the way he feels about himself. Big Nate thinks Big!!
