An update from the Human Resources committee

This term, the Human Resources committee has looked at staffing at the school for the next academic year. We have considered and planned for changes and have looked at how the staffing structure fits in with the School Improvement Plan.

We have been updated on the Performance Management of staff, learning that this term's teacher observations are underway and have reviewed the procedure for appointing staff, as well as considering work/life balance and working conditions. 

We also discussed the upcoming opportunity for training new teachers in the early years, through the Centre for Research in Early Childhood Initial Teacher Training programme and learnt how rigorous the selection process was. The governors in the HR committee were not surprised to hear that Cheswick Green School has been especially selected to be part of this, due to the excellent foundation department.
