The turtles get trapped in nets or they get caught on hooks.
They can't escape and dies by consequently drowning.
Turtles are hunted for their meat and their eggs. Unfortunnately the turtles shell is used for many things like medicine and it can be sold for lot of money.

When a turtle lays many eggs, the hatchlings have a long way to get to the sea
but some don't live long even when they get to the sea because of predators
like birds,dogs,foxes,fish and mammals.

Many turtle conservation's are creating activites such as nest protection
and research program. From now on fisherman should have turtle excluder devices in their nets.
The villages in the community get to help protect the turtles nests and their eggs.
Once the eggs are hatched the villages should ensure the baby turtles reach the sea safely.
