Mars has some pretty awesome landmarks.
Olympus Mons is the 2nd biggest mountain
in the Solar System. WOW!!
Gravity
Olympus Mons
Mars has very weak gravity which cannot hold onto the atmosphere well. Mars's gravity is stronger then Mercury by less than 1%. One big difference is that the gravity on Mars' surface is much lower than it is here on Earth -62% lower to be precise. The gravity is 0.375. If you weigh 100 pounds on Earth you would
weigh 38 pounds.
Also Olympus Mons is an amazing sight - it's 21km
high and 600km across the base. Another name
for Olympus Mons is is Mount Olympus and to add
to that, experts call it Nix Olympica. Also Olympus
Mons is about 3 times as tall as Mount Everest.
Olympus Mons was formed during Mars's Amazonian era. WOW!!!
Diameter
Mars
Mars has half of earth's diameter.
Also Mars is 4222 miles
(6779 km) in diameter but from
pole to pole the diameter is
4196 miles.
