Ice Parade

If it was anyone's fault, it was mine. We were on holiday at Frostilania, well, at least that's what I called it, and it was our last, full, day there. Frostilania had an annual event every year, celebrating the beauty of the fluffy snow and the twinkling icicles. The festival was today, and music was splashing in our ears, with the synchronized thundering of the feet of talented dancers. Food stalls were packed with hungry customers, craving for some unique tastes. There was a face painter, a jeweller, but most mysteriously, there lay a scarlet, silk carpet running through the stalls.

Then it arrived. A parade of people came marching gracefully upon the velvet, with heroic sounds dripping into our ears. I swiftly ran towards the show, and sat, to the festivals horror, on a small, black spinning stool. I failed to notice the silent response, but reluctantly, they turned back to the excitement before their eyes. Without anyone telling me, I noticed what seemed to be the matter. It was too late.

Silence.I was super glued to the seat.Who on earth would do that? Maybe it was a prank!? I wanted to yell, but the parade was still swishing and swirling in beautiful sort of way, with their feet pounding on scarlet silk. Silent gasps of wonder came from toddlers little mouths. Then I remembered. Bella! She was my younger sister, and I had been trusted to take care of her, but lost concentration over the parade. Bella didn't seem to mind though! She was prancing through the crowd in a clumsy manner, much to the audiences' frustration. I knew what would happen next, but could I do anything at all? No. Then I had an idea. The skirt I was wearing was one of my favourites, but no one else in my family liked it much. I had shorts underneath,in case my skirt got dirty, so I slipped out of my skirt, and raced after mischievous Bella. But already, Bella was dancing joyously in the parade, sending the audience into fits of giggles, but the real parade into cries and shouts of anger. Bella threw off her little red boots, and pulled here reindeer socks off her tiny feet.

"Bella!" I whispered sternly."What on earth are you doing! Come back now!!"

Bella pouted, scrunched up her eyebrows, a clear sign that she was considering my command.

"Now," I reminded Bella.I offered my hand to my little sister, who smiled apologetically to me.I "Don't forget" ,I said," to apologise to the parade and...

"I'm Sorry" Bella sang, apologetically."So sorry."

The parade graciously accepted, and even gave Bella a bar of jelly chocolate for her "fabulous" performance. But she spit the bar into tiny cubes so everybody could taste the treat.

It is a few years later now, Bella is seven, I am ten, and even now we are still constantly giggling about the last day in the beautiful Frostilania .
