As the bombs took flight

By Sol Myhill

As the bombs took flight

People running down the cobbled streets

The ancient church up in flames like fireworks

People suffering before their death

Fire, Pain, Agony!

As the bombs took flight

The children and parents forcefully separated

The screaming sirens meant nothing

As homes were gone in no time at all

Death, Murder, Kill!

As the bombs took flight

The people had too go to war

Build planes for the battle

the battle they called the Blitz

Fight, Defeat, Help

As the bombs took flight

There was deadly ash and smoke hovering in the air

Harvest had failed and all the crops were burnt

People now starving as last hopes were blown out

Scream, Dark, Hopeless
