Gangsta Granny grabs Gold!

Ashmount's amazing dancers stole the show at the recent Islington Dance Festival, winning Gold and adding another trophy to our bulging cabinet.

The troupe of Year 4 girls, showed they definitely had the swagger and style when beating away with the opposition with their dance, which was choreographed by our super talented and fantastic dance teacher Jessica.

The theme for the competition was 'your favourite book', so the children chose David Walliams, 'Gangsta Granny.' They practised long and hard and the end product was breath-taking.

On the hottest day of the year, the girls certainly brought more heat to Islington Town Hall, where the event took place with their performance. Not taking away anything from the other schools as their were some equally outstanding performances but confidence in the camp was high as the judges deliberated on the deciding upon the winners.

The wait was over as the results were read out, and to the delight of the Ashmount contingent (performers, Jessica, parents, siblings, relatives and teachers Rebecca yr 6 and Jenny yr 4) we were announced as the winners.

Dancers :- Amy, Ella, Faith, Henrietta, Jodie, Layla, Mae, Matilda, Millie, Olivia, Sabina, Sophia and Trixie.
