Bouncy Eggs!

Over the last few weeks Reception have been learning about materials and how we can change them using methods such as melting, freezing, chilling, dissolving and mixing. Our favourite experiment was making bouncy eggs. We submerged eggs in vinegar and observed the changes to the shells over a few days. The shells dissolved, leaving the eggs perfectly formed and only protected by the membrane. We then dropped the eggs from various heights. Some of the eggs bounced really well, others didn't but we don't mind a bit of mess in Reception.
