Celebrating Black History Month

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans. Black Lives Matter is a social movement protesting incidents of police brutality and all racially motivated violence against black people.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a social activist who played a key role in the American civil rights movement. King sought equality and human rights for African Americans. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated by being fatally shot while he was supporting a workers' strike.
