Literacy - Today, we are going to plan own version of

“Escape from Pompeii”. You are going to plan your own

story from your own character’s point of view.

Use the 5 headings from my summary to plan your story. REMEMBER this is only a plan. We will start writing the story tomorrow. Today, just write dot points or notes under the headings to help you plan your story.

LO: To plan a story.

1. Introduction – Who is the main character? Where do they live? What do their parents do (farmer, solider, craftsman, entertainer or fisherman)? Who is their best friend? Where do they live? What is the mountain called that is nearby?
2. Build-up – What is your character doing when there is an earthquake? What is the earthquake like? What does your character do next?
3. Climax – What happens when your character goes outside? How do they escape?
4. Resolution – What does your character do when the volcano erupts?
5. Ending – What does your character do afterwards? Where do they go? What happens to them?
