On June 5th 2014, Year 5 and 6 visited Oxwich Bay. Year 5 worked with Dawn from the Countryside Council for Wales. Dawn taught us about the different coastal features and how erosion occurs over many years. We used the sand to show the erosion process. First, we made the headland, then a cave, we used water from the sea to create the arch.

Next, we used more water to represent the waves, and eventually the top of the arch collapsed, creating the stacks. The stacks are worn down by the waves and become stumps. We had lots of fun!! BUT then the tide started to come in and we needed to create a defence around our creations. Unfortunately, our creations didn't survive!
