Who changed the world?

Robert Falcon Scott was born on the 6th of June 1868 in Devonport, Plymouth.His ambition was to be a popular captain and to go to the south Pole.

He is also known as Scott of the Antarctic. He joined the navy when he was just 13!!! He was nearly the first person to reach the south pole.

His first expedition was in 1901-1904 with Ernest Shackleton. He later went on a journey in the year 1910-1913.He is famous for his expedition to Antarctica twice.

In his later expedition he went on a boat called the Terra Nova. A norwegian explorer, Roald Amundsem beat him by only just a month.

He became the first lieutenant in 1897 while commanding an Antarctic expedition on the HMS Discovery. He also discovered

The Ross Sea.
