SPELLINGS

Practise writing these common exception words everyday - the, a, do, to, today, of, said, says, are, were. Remember to use the look, cover, write and check technique.

At the end of the week get your Mum or Dad to test you.

You could choose 3 - 5 of these words and put them into sentences.



Find a selection of objects from your bedroom. Choose 2. Pick each up and

decide which is the heaviest / lightest? Repeat with other objects. Is the biggest always the heaviest? Why or why not?

Complete the Weighing worksheets '4c Comparing' in your workpack. Look at the scales and tick the heaviest items, compare two objects writing which is heaviest/lightest, count how many cubes balance each object.

Play BBC Bitesize Maths KS1 Karate Cats Maths (Click on the

picture) - Select the topic Measurement. Choose your level

Bronze, Silver or Gold. Answer the questions.

Complete the missing number jigsaws within 100 OR cut and

order the penguins to 10 / 20.

Play Doodle Maths. Use the log in details from your pack and

refer to the letter from Mrs Arnold for more advice.

SCIENCE - Our Science topic this half term is Weather. Look at the powerpoint on Weather. Watch a BBC Weather Forecast each day for a week. In your learning pack you will find a Weather chart. Keep a record of the weather by drawing a symbol into each box everyday. Count and record how many days were rainy? sunny? cloudy? etc

SCIENCE - Make some bread rolls or something that you would buy in a

bakery shop such as biscuits or cakes. Make a list of the ingredients..

GEOGRAPHY - Look at the powerpoint on Maps of the World. Find

out the names of the 4 countries of the UK. On your worksheet

colour each country on your map a different colour and label them.

ART - Draw a picture to illustrate the Great Fire of London. Colour it.

ART - Make a collage. Mix red and yellow paint to make the orange flames for your background. Cut buildings out of black paper and stick on to create a silhouette.
