This week we having been learning about the sense of smell. We explored different smells using smell pots and the children tried to identify the following smells: mint, lemon, garlic, ginger and orange. We also talked about things that smell good, things that smell bad and smells that mean danger. We decided that our sense of smell is very useful!

To celebrate Advent the children worked together to create our Advent tree. The children chose a 2D shape to make the baubles and then they selected a Christmas picture to stick on the baubles, we then added the number. Each day, one child will be chosen to find the advent number and turn over the bauble to reveal a Christmas picture. They will then have a golden chocolate coin to enjoy at home.

The countdown to Christmas has definitely begun and we hope your child enjoys making Santa's Advent beard, please check in your child's Learning Journal as this is their challenge work until Christmas.
