I was ploughing through the 5ft snow, up the steep mountainside of Everest. My toes were frozen and I was finding it hard to carry on but the ferocious wind and the icy temperatures weren’t going to stop me. My team were following close behind and we were hunting for a place to call base. Everyone was now slowing down and making the journey even more tedious. Suddenly, there was an avalanche. Snow was rolling down the hill, coming towards us. Panicking and flailing arms surrounded me. I had to think fast and get everyone out of this dire situation…
